The Seeds of Change program for students from BanYa Literacy Center started in 2018. September 2020 marked the start of our third year. Classes were conducted twice a month, for 24 students, over a four month period. In 2022, a dedicated sewing class was initiated to certify participants.
The key contributors teaching these classes, are English-speaking Expats, with a smidgen of Thai language skills. Our students are from Myanmar. We communicate with examples, demonstrations, tools, and the wonderful support of Thai and Burmese speaking helpers.
Our classes are focused on building confidence while exploring creative learning. With few exceptions, our projects use reclaimed and/or donated materials....also helping Mother Earth.
